Bookshelf: Fall favorites

Happy first day of Fall! Autumn is by far my favorite season. I love how the crispness in the air can make you feel nostalgic for a different time and eager for a new school year. Every Autumn for the past four years I've reread Bossy Pants, listened to the Avett Brothers (Salvation Song on repeat) and enjoyed at least one apple cider donut from my favorite food truck. This year, I'm looking to make new traditions in Texas - any suggestions?

I also take full advantage of the season by creating a cozy atmosphere for kids and stocking up on my fall classics at home and in the classroom.  Here are some of my favorite kids books to help your children enjoy the season.

The Leaf Man by Lois Ehlert. Beautiful artwork and a lovely story.

Leaves by David Ezra Stein. Sweet story about the changing of seasons.

The Apple Orchard Riddle & How Many Seeds in a Pumpkin?  by Margaret McNamara Endless possibilities for classroom activities and field trips.

My favorite baby fall book is a simple touch and feel book.
